Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Essence

I have a sensitive-combination skin type. The t-zone and cheeks get extremely oily during warm and humid weather. During winter season, moisturizing creams make my t-zone oily. I was looking for something that could hydrate my skin without making the t-zone oily and has anti-ageing properties as well. In the past I have used Lancome’s Advanced Genifique (a serum I loved to the core), but this time I didn’t want to splurge on luxury. So, one fine day at the Innisfree store I told the attendant what my concerns were, then he suggested me Jeju Lava Seawater Essence. I tried it at the back of my hand and instantly loved the texture. An essence is more light weight and a little less concentrated than a serum. Using essence is an important part of the Korean skincare routine.

Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Essence is water based (contains 84.5% Lava seawater) that provides hydration with anti-ageing benefits.  It has a mild fragrance like Odomos and slightly runny consistency. I apply it after washing the face and just one pump is enough for entire face and neck. I have been using it regularly, twice a day for the past two months and love how quickly it gets absorbed in to the skin. I can see the difference it has made, my skin looks healthy, smooth and supple. I follow it up with Jeju Lava Seawater Lotion.

If you have combination to oily skin type and can’t do without serum, you should definitely give it a try.

Have you ever tried Jeju lava seawater essence before?  What do you think of it?
